Sheffield Sharks have piled on the frustration, inadvertently at least, for the man their fans love to hate.
Sharks supporters regularly greet Rico Alderson with a crescendo of boos.
Not that the Bears star lets that bother him too much.
What might drive him to distraction though is that he now faces two weeks without a game thanks to Sharks' BBL Cup final involvement, which has led to Saturday's trip to Sussex being postponed.
Two weeks? You might as well make that three weeks without a serious match given the one-sided nature of Bears' win at Leicester last week.
Alderson, as is usual on home ULEB Cup nights, sat on the bench in street clothes as Bears beat Ionikos on Tuesday.
The frustration will be even greater over the next two weeks as he is left at home while his colleagues visit Lithuania and Poland.
What happens to the Sheffield game remains to be seen, but Bears are looking at an end-of-season midweek date at the Brighton Centre.
The league have given clearance to extend the regular season for what could be a title decider.
Now the go ahead is awaited from Sheffield.
