Builders have started to refurbish a neglected industrial estate in the East Brighton regeneration area.
About £225,000 is being ploughed into the Fairway Industrial Estate, in Moulsecoomb Way, to make it more attractive.
Improved street lighting and paving is included together with new street furniture, landscaping and artwork.
The refurbishment will also incorporate new signage on all major access roads leading to the estate.
The Single Regeneration Budget and eb4u, the regeneration organisation in East Brighton, is funding the improvements.
Lorraine Bell, eb4u's business community manager, said: "The improvements will make the business park much more attractive to prospective tenants who may have previously been deterred by its poor appearance and image.
"New businesses will equal job creation, which is great for local residents."
The works should be completed by March.
