Peter McCallum (Letters, January 7) complains that the Aquarena in Worthing may be closed as part of the council's cost-cutting proposals.
It seems Worthing council puts swimming as a low priority just as Mid Sussex Council does.
The Dolphin Leisure Centre in Haywards Heath refurbished the cafe and got rid of the diving boards to make way for a new gym but didn't touch the swimming pool.
Not only that, I signed my son on to their waiting list for swimming lessons a year ago and am still waiting for a place for him. I phoned up recently to find out if he was any nearer getting a place but they couldn't tell me.
