I would like to thank all the volunteers across Brighton, Hove and Portslade who help to ensure many people in our community get a regular hot meal delivered.
Every day last year, the Meals on Wheels service, provided by the Women's Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS), delivered more than 400 meals.
On Christmas Day our volunteers helped deliver around 250 meals.
I'd also like to ask those of you with time on your hands during lunchbreaks to consider joining us in this vital service.
All we ask of our volunteers is they commit to at least one lunchtime delivery a month - you don't need to be a driver and you don't need to be a woman.
The people who receive our meals are always happy to see a new face.
Will you be a new face to them this year?
I can be contacted at either the Brighton kitchen on 01273 602499 or the Hove kitchen on 01273 410117.
-Jerry Swift volunteer recruitment officer, WRVS Meals on Wheels, Brighton, Hove and Portslade
