Shattered contestant Jimmy Burke is recovering at home after battling for six days without sleep on the television show.
The 33-year-old youth worker from Kemp Town, Brighton, had his first full night's sleep on Friday night after being eliminated from Channel 4's programme and said he was feeling "totally back to normal".
The aim of the reality show was to stay awake for seven days without proper sleep.
Contestants were put through a series of endurance tests, including watching paint dry for one hour.
Billed as the ultimate exercise in sleep deprivation, Shattered competitors were allowed occasional catnaps agreed by the producers but over the course of the week they complained of hallucinations, exhaustion and paranoia.
Each day, the worst performing contestant was eliminated.
Jimmy, who helps youngsters with drug addictions, was booted off after coming last in a reaction test on Friday.
The £97,000 prize was finally won by trainee police officer Clare Southern, 19, of Dorset, on Saturday.
Jimmy said: "At the moment it's not affecting me quite as much as it should do.
"But I've seen a psychologist, who told me the lack of sleep will have affected my brain."
Shattered is being investigated by media watchdog Ofcom after sparking a number of complaints from viewers that it exploited participants and endangered their health.
