Eurostar carried a record number of passengers to Paris and Brussels last year.
Eurostar, which operates out of London Waterloo station, carried 1.69 million passengers through the Channel Tunnel between October and December last year.
This was an increase of 15 per cent on the same period in 2002.
Passengers have been switching to Eurostar since September last year when journey times were improved after the opening of the first part of the high-speed link from the Channel Tunnel to London.
