I have just read the comments of Paul Baker from Horsham under the title "Disgruntled Fan" (The Argus, February 3).
Disgruntled he may be, but a fan he is not.
A fan supports his team through thick and thin. Without the support of true fans, no team can succeed, so it's a double-edged blade. Without your continuous support they will not be successful, with it they may have a chance.
I wonder sometimes if Brighton and its so-called fans like Paul deserve a good football team. Clubs such as Sunderland and West Ham still maintained their loyal fans when going through far more difficulties than Brighton and Hove Albion have.
Remember how successful our team were over the past few years, an envy of the lower divisions.
When we get a new stadium, Paul can attend again, under cover and go for a burger if he gets bored.
Meanwhile, I - like many other true fans - will continue to turn out at Withdean, rain or shine, and support our super lads.
-Robin Durant, Withdean
