A man who claimed he was duped into kissing a transsexual for a reality TV show has won a payout from Brighter Pictures and Sky One.

The Peacehaven man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, took part in There's Something About Miriam, filmed in Ibiza last year.

Six men competed against each other for Miriam's affections and to win £10,000 and a week on a yacht with the sultry brunette.

They were told to impress her by performing macho and romantic acts, including holding hands and kissing.

They walked out on the show after they were told the object of their ardour was really a man who had not yet had a full sex change.

The contestants demanded the show be shelved, claiming conspiracy to commit a sexual assault, breach of contract and personal injury.

They also claimed defamation of character, saying they had been held up to ridicule in front of the 70 members of the film crew.

All have agreed to drop their legal action after receiving an apology and an undisclosed payout.

The show will go out later this month following the out-of-court settlement.
