We are extremely grateful for the tremendous response we received from readers after Karen Hoy's article on the plight of Scrunchie, the little ginger cat who had suffered appalling injuries (The Argus, January 29).
People have sent donations, caring messages, get well cards and food and as a result of our appeal and I am delighted to report that his current and future treatment is assured. He has a long way to go before he can be homed but the vets think he will have a good quality of life and hope he will make a full recovery.
He is being given skin graft treatment and physiotherapy and has remained happy and ravenous through it all. He likes nothing better than to have his head rubbed all day. He really is a lovely boy. His rehabilitation will take a long time and he is keeping the nurses busy.
Once again, to everyone who took such a kind interest in Scrunchie's well-being and made a contribution, thank you, you have restored our faith in human nature.
