Visitors who want to book a hotel bed will soon be able to do it by tapping on a window.

Touch-screen computerised kiosks offering visitors information about Brighton and Hove have been launched.

They include details about accommodation, attractions, shopping and eating out.

Kiosks have been placed in the windows of Hove Town Hall and the visitor information centre in Bartholomew Square, Brighton.

Visitors press a touch-sensitive window from the street to call up information at any time of the day.

Searches can be made over the whole city or by areas - Hove and Brunswick, Churchill Square and Western Road, The Lanes, North Laine, the seafront, Kemp Town, Brighton Marina, Rottingdean or city limits and beyond.

Information about events and hotel room availability will eventually be presented.

It is also hoped to install more terminals at other busy sites.
