Once again a little bad news about Falmer and out of the woodwork they come (Letters, February 10).
Charles Brewerton's letter was interesting but, as with all anti-Falmer correspondence, he gives plenty of advice but no suggestion as to where there is a viable site.
If he meant Black Rock, the residents are concerned about 7,000 people leaving so how would 20,000 get to it and away again? And what sort of pitch would we have with all that sea salt on it?
Then there's the hoary old chestnut of the referendum. Well, let's look at it from a different perspective. If a vote had to be above 38 per cent to be valid, Parliament would be only about two-thirds full, there would be no MEPs and the council chamber would be virtually empty.
Falmer, unlike three of Charles Hoile's sites and Mr Brewerton's, has a train station, which means it's the only green site apart from Brighton station - and that isn't going to happen.
Finally, congratulations to Len Williams on 30 years at Falmer. I assume he is expecting a medal because he obviously isn't aware
Come on, Mr Prescott, you know it makes sense.
