Brighton University gave their British League division two hopes a huge boost with two stunning victories.
They powered past main rivals Dulwich 5-3 and swept aside Portsmouth 8-0 at Barnet.
The university are now joint leaders with Dulwich with four matches left to play. Jack Boult was unbeaten in both games.
The future of this year's Sussex Open Grand Prix is still in doubt. The Sussex TTA will ask the English Table Tennis Association to run it but are struggling to find a date and an 18-table venue.
