I have an ideal solution to the accommodation problem for the vast numbers of asylum-seekers, particularly the single young men.
Instead of building large holding or reception centres for hundreds in one place, why not house one or two in each family who are sympathetic to their cause?
This way they would learn our language and customs and the problems caused by large groups not integrating into local communities would be solved.
The families would be paid an allowance and it would work on similar lines to foreign students who come here in the summer and live with families.
It's easy to be sympathetic when the problem is not immediately on your doorstep. Let's see how many people's sympathies would dry up given a suggestion such as this.
