Rye and Iden are emerging as strong contenders for the title after toppling leaders East Preston.
Scott Price's men are within six points of EP after their 2-0 win at the Salts on Saturday and they also have a game in hand.
Shaun Loft tapped in the opener and the points were sealed by a 63rd minute own goal.
It was Rye's 11th win in 13 games and they now face visits from Arundel and Chichester in their next two matches.
Price said: "We've got eight of our last 13 games at home where our form is good, but the next two games will decide it."
Chichester missed the chance to go top again after they were thrashed 6-2 by improving Southwick at Old Barn Way.
Wickers' youngsters impressed boss Mick Fogden although it was veteran midfielder Jack Dineen who got his man of the match vote despite missing a first half penalty.
Dineen atoned for his error with a goal and Aaron MacMillan, James Rhodes and Terry Streeter were also on target before Adam Burton came off the bench to score twice.
Eastbourne Town's Yemi Odubade missed his second successive penalty in a goalless draw against Three Bridges.
Odubade was denied by Alan Mansfield's good save after he had been tripped in the box, but the result was fair according to Town boss Dave Winterton.
"Both sides had chances. From our point of view it was good to keep a clean sheet," he said.
Whitehawk boss Ian Chapman rates the 5-1 win at Arundel as the best in his time at the club.
Tommy Pattenden scored twice and helped create Simon Rowland's two goals. Kevin Townsend added a superb fifth.
East Grinstead moved into the top five with a 2-1 success over Selsey at East Court, their seventh in eight league games.
Adam Dart and Steve Banks put Wasps in charge before Alun Morey pulled one back.
Defender Damien Smith trebled his season's goal tally with a hat-trick as Hailsham beat Shoreham 4-0. Matt Smith also netted.
