Graham Howson (Letters, February 24) is spot on with his observations.

The driver of every bus on the No 1 route to Brighton always enters the yellow box at the junction of Boundary Road and New Church Road, Hove.

I usually get off at the next stop and am fed up with pointing out to some of these drivers that they should not enter the box unless there is an exit clear.

They seem to think that because there is a road leading out of the box that this is their exit.

Yes, it is - but not if there is oncoming traffic transiting the box blocking their exit.

There never seem to be any police about to see these infractions of the road traffic regulations and issue tickets. Why not, when there are plenty of wardens sneaking around Portslade ambushing drivers who are not causing any inconvenience to other road users?

The biggest inconveniences are the new bus stops that now cause a traffic blockage because they extend into the roadway.

Roger French's observation that the main culprit is the level crossing is a bolt out of the blue for us Portsladers.

Talk about stating the obvious.
