Southern FM'S Danny Pike and Nicky Keig-Shevlin are joining up with a real Jack the Lad on their breakfast show.
DJ Jack Hayes, from Ditchling, near Lewes, has been signed up to play the joker with the team and makes his debut on Monday.
Described as a younger and better-looking Alfie Moon, Jack is a former Hove lifeguard but he is better known for his talents as a DJ performing at clubs in Brighton.
Danny and Nicky, who present their show from the station's Portslade studio, will be sending Jack on missions throughout the county to mingle with listeners as the station ups its profile.
Last summer, radio DJ Simon Barker Davies, known as Moody, suddenly left the station without explanation shortly after presenting acts at the Party in the Park.
Jack now gets a chance to win over listeners with his antics.
He said: "I suppose I'm their plaything, doing the things they don't want to do. I'm going to have mug tattooed on my forehead. I'll be out and about meeting the listeners face-to-face.
"It sounds like I'll just be out having fun so I can't wait to start."
Before turning his hand to radio, Jack, born in London but moved to Sussex at 16, worked in pubs and clubs.
He was asked to join the breakfast team after being recommended by Southern FM DJ Mike Panteli, after helping him with his show.
