I have to admire Mr and Mrs Radtke (The Argus, March 1) for their idea of building down as well as up to give more internal floor area.
Use of space in Brighton has to be thought about carefully. When I walk through the North Laine, I feel the whole shabby mess should be demolished and decent affordable housing put in its place.
One or two quality terraces towards the top of the hill could be retained. The style of the new buildings could still be terraced, with four residential floors and shops on the ground floor.
No doubt I shall be seen as a barbarian, but, Hey Man, and Woman, this is the 21st Century. This is Cool Britannia. Trust me.
