May I add my voice to the chorus of frustrated Brighton supporters crying out for the construction of a new football stadium at Falmer.
Since the Goldstone ground was sold it has been heartbreaking to see our brave little club trying to get somewhere in the football league without a proper ground of its own that is large enough to accommodate the crowds a club of the Albion's standing could attract.
Withdean is an insult to a team of Brighton's potential.
Brighton and Hove is a major city and by any criteria justifies the construction of a modern state-of-the-art football stadium.
Without it, in the words of club chairman Dick Knight, not only is the future of the club at stake but also its very survival.
Most major cities in Europe and, indeed, most other cities and large towns in the developed world, have a stadium worthy of their football club. Brighton, both in terms of population and popularity, can certainly be ranked among them.
