Albion manager Mark McGhee warned his players against complacency today in the quest for another home victory to consolidate their play-off challenge.
A fifth straight win at Withdean tonight against Tranmere Rovers will move the Seagulls up a place again above Hartlepool into fifth.
Tranmere have an FA Cup final quarter-final replay at home to Millwall to look forward to next Tuesday, with the incentive of a semi-final clash against Sunderland.
Rather than distracting them, McGhee believes his one-time predecessor at Leicester Brian Little will use tonight's match to motivate the Rovers players.
McGhee employed the same tactic when he steered Wolves to the semi-finals of the FA Cup six years ago.
"Those that wanted to play against Arsenal at Villa Park had to play well in the League games," McGhee said. "They had to earn their place in that game.
"We didn't have a big enough squad and neither do Tranmere to rest people and risk results, so I think that is what Brian will be saying and we can expect Tranmere to be absolutely at their best.
"If anyone here gets complacent then we are asking for big trouble. I am determined not to let that happen."
Tonight's tussle is the first of a dozen fixtures which will decide Albion's fate.
They have opportunities to improve their poor away form at Port Vale on Saturday and Chesterfield next Tuesday, but Withdean form could still be the key.
