Albion were today charged by the Football Association with failing to control their players.

Stockport County face the same charge following a mass confrontation during the 1-1 draw between the teams at Edgeley Park at the end of last month.

FA spokesman Andrin Cooper said: "We have charged both clubs with failure to ensure that their players and or officials conduct themselves in an orderly fashion and refrain from violent and or threatening and or provocative behaviour."

Albion and Stockport have 14 days to respond to the charge.

Players from both teams and both benches became embroiled in a second half melee after Stockport manager Sammy McIlroy clashed with Albion defender Dan Harding.

Seagulls keeper Ben Roberts was booked by referee Andy Penn.
