Bognor boss Jack Pearce blamed goalkeeper Craig Stoner for a 2-0 defeat at Ford United.
The former Portsmouth professional failed to deal with a free kick on 23 minutes which led to Dean Fenton giving the home side the lead. Then his wayward clearance on 87 minutes resulted in goal for debutant Jay Murray.
The closest Rocks came to scoring was a second-half free kick by Kevin Murphy which hit the bar.
Pearce said: "Mr Stoner cost us the points which is the cruel reality of being a goalkeeper. If you are going to get the glory when you make great saves, then you have to take the flak when you let goals in."
