The Eurydice (The Argus, March 6), although listed as a frigate, was a sixth-rate sloop.
These ships were known as "Donkey Frigates" because, after the Napoleonic war, a number of true frigates were in reserve and these smaller ships were doing frigate duty.
Two of the proper frigates are still afloat, The Unicorn at Dundee and the Trincomalle in Hartlepool.
Both are Leda class and although launched after the war are typical frigates of Nelson's navy.
