I read with horror the letters from Julian Henley and Chuck Odom (March 16), who describe receiving abusive and threatening letters after having letters published on these pages.
What small-minded people would take the time to try to silence writers in their homes for having a different point of view from their own?
I think all decent readers of this paper know exactly what kind of person would do this.
On a more positive note, I had phone calls of support from strangers following a letter I had published about vandalism in my street, which were much appreciated.
So, Julian and Chuck, not all readers of The Argus are louts.
Don't be dissuaded from airing your own non-offensive points of view - after all, it's something we are all entitled to do in this country.
