how many people are going to miss the bottom of the sea 20 miles out in the English Channel because of dredging for aggregates off Beachy Head (The Argus, March 16)?
Surely if this attitude had prevailed in years past, we would be without the means to build anything?
What would the brave pilots who fought and died in the Second World War over these same waters have to say?
They defended these shores successfully to enable future generations to enjoy and build security, quality of life and prosperity.
That's far more important than a small isolated site at the bottom of the English Channel.
