Although the sentence of five-and-a-half years given to Graham Travers was thought to be too lenient by his victims' families, he will suffer a life sentence of remorse for the suffering that he has brought to so many people.
He will never be able to forgive himself for the deaths of Natalie 'Flo' McCabe and Vicki Browne and for the injuries to their friend Becky Fish and the heartache to their families.
The tragic accident in Portland Road was indeed heartbreaking. We hope that in time family and friends will be able to forgive him and not give themselves a life sentence of bitterness and hatred.
They must miss their beautiful daughters terribly and Becky will always be disfigured but Travers' family will also miss their son while he is in prison.
I know what happened seems at the moment to be unforgivable, but God always forgives.
Maybe in time they will find it in their hearts to forgive him, however hard that is.
Such a tragedy to so many young people's lives. We are all thinking of you in your sorrow.
-Mrs Pamela Hill, Woodingdean
