East Grinstead and Three Bridges will both be bidding to end a barren run of success in tonight's final at Lancing.
The last major honour for Bridges was the RUR Cup in 1988 when they beat Hailsham 2-1, although they did lift the division two cup in 1998.
Grinstead have not appeared in a major cup final for 29 years and the last trophy they won was the league cup in 1952.
Tonight's showdown has all the makings of a classic cup final with little to choose between the teams.
They have faced each other three times this season, with Bridges winning the league match 2-0 back in August while two Sussex Senior Cup ties ended all square after extra time.
Bridges manager Sammy Donnelly said: "It will be a close call again. Not only is it a local derby but neither side has won anything for a long time so there will be a lot of pride at stake."
Skipper Lee Butcher should be fit for Bridges but Liam Ahearne misses out through injury and Ben Milford is a doubt due to work commitments.
The Wasps are without the unavailable Matt Thorpe and Dave Stares is suspended but manager Bobby Smith has no injury problems.
Nick Levitt, who scored on his first appearance since returning to the club at Pagham on Saturday, could be in contention for a starting place.
Smith said: "Bridges have the upper hand in terms of experience but there is not a lot else to choose between the sides. It will be all about who plays best and who wants it more on the night."
East Grinstead defender Drew Cooney, 18, is the subject of a seven-day approach from Crawley Town although he is expected to see out the season at East Court.
