As a member of the Friendship Force of Sussex I've had some wonderful experiences making friends around the world.
A number of us from Sussex visited clubs in San Francisco and Hawaii in 2002.
We were hosted for a week at each club by people with whom we'd only exchanged letters but very soon became firm friends.
We received a wonderful welcome, learning about local customs and culture through sightseeing with a difference and delicious dinners in other members' homes.
We certainly did see the country from the inside looking out and learned more than we would from any package deal.
In June, members from our Sussex club are to visit the Friendship Forces of Medicine Hat, Canada, and Great Falls, USA.
Then, in September, we're looking forward to hosting Hawaiian clubs, showing them our beautiful county, renewing acquaintances and getting to know new people.
The Sussex club also has a very good social activities programme - how about joining us and improving your lifestyle?
If you are interested give me a call on 01903 767544.
Alternatively, we have booked a stall at Worthing Rotary Club's Hobbies and Leisure Exhibition to be held at the Assembly Hall, Worthing on Saturday, April 17, 10am-4pm. Maybe we will see you there?
