I live in a cul-de-sac in Burgess Hill.
At the end of our road is a junior school, so it's well used by parents dropping off and collecting their children, mornings and afternoons.
To alleviate the traffic situation many residents park half on the pavement, trying not to hinder the carriageway, but also keeping pathways accessible.
Last Thursday a community policeman came knocking at our doors and leafleting cars to advise that it is illegal to park a motor vehicle on a pavement and so we must park on the road.
Being a law-abiding citizen I have now parked MY car on the road.
As I write, parents are delivering their children.
It seems that my vehicle is actually adding to the congestion.
Ironically the school actually provides a "drop-off" area for the parents to use but it is in completely the wrong place and highly inaccessible.
