The article of "16 Days to Save Albion Dream" (The Argus, March 24) referred to a copied letter sent by John Prescott's office to all those, including Falmer Parish Council, who appeared at the football stadium public inquiry.
In your article, the letter was abridged and you failed to make clear to your readers that this letter was sent to Tony Allen of DMH Planning in response to documents sent to John Prescott's office by DMH Planning on behalf of Brighton and Hove Albion (BHA) in their attempting to discredit the Local Plan inspector's report and his comments on policy SR25 - the football stadium policy.
Mr Prescott's offfice has circulated a copy of this letter and the club's documents to all who appeared at the public inquiry inviting their comments by April 9.
Only the people who have received this information have been invited to reply. Those who appeared at the public inquiry on behalf of BHA were in the main professional witnesses who had been employed by the club to put their case together.
There were only three independent local football fans who spoke up for the Albion at the inquiry on behalf of BHA.
Is it these three fans who have been granted a further "16 days to save the Albion's dream"?
-M A Cutress, Falmer Parish Council
