It was pleasant to see a vivacious mature lady win a car in the recent Argus competition.
However, I cannot understand why car distributors think it is important to have a shapely young lady to sell the goods.
I would have thought if the car was good enough and the price is right, it would sell itself.
When I completed the entry form, I wondered why it asked one's age.
However, when the nine finalists were announced, it was apparent that winners came from the 25-55 age group. I should have realised that it would not have created much interest if an old man of 65 had won.
Perhaps one day The Argus will be offered a basket of fruit from the fruit and veg market and then the paper could arrange a competition for the over-60s.
