I read with interest the article on the Palace Pier (The Argus, March 29). It certainly is a great asset to the town.
The Noble Organisation is talking about the next 20 years and let's hope it is still here then.
But what is it going to do about rising sea levels?
This is a very serious issue, one that many do not even think or care about. However, it will not go away.
In the Seventies, Brighton Marina was built with the inner dyke running east-west a massive 40ft high and 25ft wide at least.
It keeps out a massive amount of water on each tide and, to ensure this continues, the Marina Company has invested in raising it to compensate for increased sea levels.
