Chris Adams successfully tested his fitness ahead of Friday's clash against the MCC at Lord's by hitting an unbeaten 49 in Sussex's rain-ruined friendly against Hampshire.
Skipper Adams, who had surgery for a tennis elbow problem at the turn of the year, made his comeback in a warm-up game which was abandoned with Hampshire 112 without loss, chasing 184 to win.
He made his runs from 69 balls, hitting five fours and a six, and received good support from Tim Ambrose (32 not out).
Sussex's innings was reduced by seven overs due to rain and Hampshire were well placed having scored their runs from 24.3 overs when rain came.
Mushtaq Ahmed marked his first warm-up match by conceding 28 runs in 5.3 overs.
