Eastbourne Borough boss Garry Wilson refused to blame his players for a disappointing defeat at Worcester City.
Victory would have guaranteed Borough a place in the Conference south division and they looked well on the way when Scott Ramsay scored his 28th of the season after just ten minutes.
But Barry Woolley equalised with six minutes to go and Carl Heeley headed home the winner two minutes into injury time.
Wilson said: "It was agony because we didn't deserve to lose."
