I read your article "Sloppy binmen lose their Easter bonus" (The Argus, April 15) as I picked my way between the stinking chicken carcasses and rotting tea bags in my street - the seagulls have been digging into three weeks of uncollected rubbish.
I have phoned the inappropriately-named CityClean numerous times and have nearly always been promised next day collection. I have made a formal complaint to the council but the black bags continue to multiply.
Richmond Street has not had its rubbish removed on time since the collection day was changed to Friday to "make the refuse collection work better".
Instead of making hollow promises to make missed collections within 72 hours, every household should be given £10 compensation for every day missed.
That just might, stop Brighton residents being treated like rubbish.
