The military lie machine in Iraq has gone into overdrive again, labelling Iraqis fanatics and terrorists for daring to resist the occupation.

But the real terrorists are the US troops who slaughtered at least 600 people in Fallujah last week.

These are the reports coming from hospitals in the town, full to overflowing with dead and injured, the majority old men, women and children.

Besides the bombing of residential areas, the Americans have positioned snipers around the town who pick out people indiscriminately.

Despite Bush and Blair's bluster about "staying the course", the resistance to the occupation will continue. And no wonder. Thousands of Iraqis have been killed and whole sections of the population live in dire poverty without electricity, sanitation or clean water. "Reconstruction" is about lining the pockets of multinationals, not bringing a better life for ordinary Iraqis.

Even US officials in Iraq admit that there is a general mood of anti-Americanism on the streets. Iraq is fast becoming the new Vietnam, where the big power gets bogged down in an unwinnable war with an oppressed people.

The solution is to withdraw all foreign troops, mercenaries and military advisors, hand back the wealth looted from Iraq and let them determine their own future - and in turn, we should boot out Bush and Blair.

By the way, did Ivor Caplin MP find any WMDs on his recent "tour" of Iraq?
