John Atkins questions whether I am really pro-fox or just anti-hunt.
The answer is both. On the morning I read his letter, I was woken at 5.30am to say that we had successfully cage-trapped a fox with mange at North Bersted, Bognor Regis.
When I examined the fox, I found its condition allowed me to treat it on site with medication and we will look to trap it again for further treatment in a few weeks.
In the afternoon, I examined some nasty snares on a game-rearing estate as part of my work with the National Anti Snaring Campaign, which I founded a few years ago (www.antisnaring.org.uk).
If Mr Atkins cares to look at www.crueltyexposed.co.uk, he will see a diary of our group's efforts opposing Sussex hunts.
If he still holds a jaundiced view of us, then he is a liar because he was a hunt supporter all along.
