Crawley manager Francis Vines finally got his hands on the premier division title shield and then revealed the aim next season is to avoid relegation.
Reds, who play their last home game of the 2003-4 campaign against Newport County tonight, were officially presented with the massive trophy and paraded it in front of a bumper 1,844 crowd at the Broadfield Stadium on Saturday The celebrations were tainted slightly because they followed a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Hinckley, Reds first home reverse since November.
Dave Sadler scored twice in 12 minutes during the first half and Jamie Lenton added a goal direct from a free kick just past the hour mark.
Vines was less than pleased with the result but admits all eyes are on next season.
He said: "It was great to finally get hold of that big shield and it was a shame we couldn't have marked the occasion with a win for the supporters.
"Since we have won promotion, all I can think about is next season - things like what we need to organise in terms of training, travelling, eating and players.
"This season has been great but the aim next year is not to go down. The plan is to be as competitive as possible and also be consistent. We will need to do that to make sure we don't come straight back down."
