Thales UK, the Crawley firm which makes flight simulators, was paid a visit by defence minister Ivor Caplin.
The Hove MP wanted to see close-up the work of the company, which specialises in futuristic radar and communication technology.
Thales's customers include the defence ministry, its US counterpart and airlines from across the world. The company employs 2,500 people in Crawley.
Mr Caplin toured the facilities and met vice-chairman of Thales UK John Howe.
He said: "The fact Thales is based in Crawley is testament to the skills and knowledge of our local workforce."
