Jelena Dokic hopes it will be third time lucky at Eastbourne this summer.
Dokic has entered the Hastings Direct International Ladies Championships at Devonshire Park from June 14 to 19 looking for her first singles victory at the tournament.
The Serbian, world ranked No. 11, suffered a shock straight sets defeat to Japanese qualifier Saori Obata last year.
In 2002, when heading towards the world No. 4 spot, she was stunned 6-4 1-6 6-2 by Darja Bedanova, from the Czech Republic, on her Eastbourne singles debut after receiving a bye in the first round.
Dokic made her name by knocking out top seed Martina Hingis in the first round of Wimbledon in 1999. A year later she reached the semi-finals.
She will join defending champion Chanda Rubin, from the USA, at Eastbourne. Rubin is chasing a third successive title.
