Southern Water continues testing land at Peacehaven prior to submitting a planning application for a sewage plant in spite of the fact that this must be one of the most expensive and impractical of all the options.
This particular option will require the construction of a road from the A259 (the only access road for this town and incidentally one that has a weight restriction imposed upon it) across downland to the proposed site.
The A259 is heavily congested already. To add to this with the many construction vehicles and eventually the tankers carrying sewage sludge for recycling will mean permanent gridlock.
I understand that a planning application will be submitted in the Atuumn. If we do not want to end up living in a smelly, gridlocked town with the loss of yet more green belt we must make our objections known.
