I was sorry to learn of the death of one of your retired employees, Ted Chippendale.
He and I were office juniors together in a firm of Hove accountants in 1943/44.
I owe him a debt of gratitude for some advice he gave me. He said "Joan, don't ever start smoking. You will never have any pocket money left".
I took his advice and have been grateful ever since.
