Sussex crashed out of the Tetley's County Championship after a torrid second half against powerful Gloucestershire.
They trailed just 12-7 at the break but were swept away 55-7 in an ultimately one-sided quarter-final at Roundstone Lane.
A try from flanker Damien Lyall, conveted by Alex Meredith, put the hosts level at 7-7 at one stage.
Lyall produced the finish after scrum half Meredith had robbed his opposite number and given Henry Goodburn a chance to run.
Pertemps Bees full back Nathan Bressington rounded off a series of attacks to restore Gloucestershire's advantage before the interval.
St Mary's Old Boys winger Graham Robertson added three second-half tries.
Lydney wing Andrew McRae and Worcester centre Duncan Murray crossed twice apiece.
Sussex face a play-off at Crawley next Saturday (2.30pm) to decide final standings.
