Workers suffering from stress often blame heavy workloads or say they have not been trained properly for the job, new research shows.

A survey of 1,000 workers revealed almost half had suffered from work-related stress.

Of these, two-thirds blamed their heavy workload and one in ten said they were under pressure because they had not been given the appropriate training.

Stressed workers said they had taken time off work, could not sleep at night, were depressed and had seen their sex drive affected.

One in six said they had made a wrong decision, which had cost their firm financially, because of lack of training.
