I am in the UK from Australia to visit family and friends in Brighton and Hove.
I was born in Hove and this is my first visit for 15 years.
For almost 30 years I lived in Sackville Road, Hove. I have not seen such a change in one place in all my life. Blatchington Road and George Street were always wonderful shopping areas.
Now they are full of charity shops, card and gift shops and over-priced coffee shops. I can see why all the coffee shops are shooting up - there is money in food and only the British would let them get away with charging such over-the-top prices.
As for St James's Street in Brighton, it is filthy, full of beggars and drunks. I am glad I do not live here any more.
