Computer games specialist Babel has opened its first office in North America.
The company, based in Fonthill Road, Hove, has set up business in San Diego under the name Babel Media USA.
San Diego is a natural choice for the company because it is in the same time zone as many US publishers as well as being a major centre for the US wireless industry.
The office will be run by Babel co-founder Ben Wibberley.
Managing director Algy Williams said: "We have high expectations for the new company and committing one of the founders to establish our presence underlines our ambitions in North America."
Babel now has offices in Hove, New Delhi and San Diego. The company employs 140 people worldwide.
