Guy Butters admits he will need his wits about him as he bids to help Albion's defence make history.
A cleansheet at home to Swindon in the play-off second leg on Thursday will make it seven shut outs in succession for the Seagulls, equalling an 80-year-old club record.
It would take Albion past the 1,000-minute mark without leaking a goal and, most importantly, ensure they reach the play-off final at the Millennium Stadium.
Butters can do his bit by keeping battle-hardened Swindon goalgetter Tommy Mooney quiet at Withdean but he admits that will be easier said than done.
Asked about Mooney, he said: "He studies the defenders. He knows where to go and what positions to get in to cause you problems.
"It's not only a physical thing when you play against him, it's a mental thing as well.
"You have got to be on your toes all the time for 90 minutes."
The Robins have scored in ten of their last 11 away games, hitting 23 goals in that time, including four at Stockport and three at Port Vale, Luton and Wycombe.
They drew a blank, however, in their most recent away trip, losing 1-0 at promoted QPR.
Butters was impressed by the atmosphere at a near-capacity County Ground on Sunday and has called on the fans in another Withdean sell-out to match that fervour.
He said: "The Brighton support was brilliant behind the goal but at one stage in the second half the Swindon fans were behind them and it was tremendous, really loud.
"Hopefully our fans will be just as vocal at our place."
Boss Mark McGhee is confident any nerves among fans will not affect his team.
He insisted there would be no anxiety from his side and added: "Our type of football is not subject to nerves.
"We are a strong, physical team and we have a medium direct style of play.
"We will go about it from the first whistle and have a go at winning the game, end of story."
Meanwhile, Malcolm Crosby has warned Albion they will be playing a dangerous game if they set out to merely protect their 1-0 lead.
Town's assistant boss is far from despondent and feels there will be goals at Withdean Stadium.
He said: "We are obviously disappointed having lost the first match with Brighton but there is still a lot of optimism because we created chances here and I'm sure we will create chances at their place.
"We have to be careful not to concede a second goal but we'll certainly be having a go, albeit in a disciplined way.
"If Brighton think they can just try and hold on to a 1-0 lead then I think they could be in for a shock."
