I was shocked by Penelope Lead-better's comments (Letters, May 12), that women shouldn't have children unless they can afford them.
Does this mean all parents of children at state schools should not reproduce or are we to extend that to include those whose offspring decide against university?
Let's take this one stage further and eliminate everyone without a degree. I wonder how many degrees Ms Leadbetter has and whether these would be counted as success if there were no one left to look down on.
The comments about benefits I can forgive - they are obviously made by someone lucky enough to have escaped the total degradation of filling in forms that demand every piece of personal information and the looks of disgust from benefit agency employees.
