Findon showed they will not give up their title without a fight after having the best of things against early pacesetters Southwick in division one.
Graham Waller (71) and Richard Iago (60) gave Findon's innings the ideal start with 115 for the first wicket and Steve Martin chipped in with 62 down the order in their total of 203-5. Southwick closed on 162-8 in reply.
The day's best bowling performance came from Arundel's Neil Chitty who took 6-30 as hosts Goring were bowled out for 92 and Arundel eased home with five wickets down.
It was a good day for Broadwater all-rounder Fitzroy Hodges. He made an unbeaten 53 in his team's 204-8 and then took 4-29 as Burgess Hill were skittled for 55. Joe Owen was destroyer-in-chief with 6-23.
Lindfield held on for a draw at Pagham, finishing on 110-8 in reply to the home side's 186-5. For Pagham, Phil Harris made 52 and then team-mate Chris Williams took 5-36.
There were two excellent performances in Barns Green's 22-run win over Clymping in division two.
Ollie Lampton hit 79 in their 199-8 before Phil Awcock returned 7-47 as the visitors were dismissed for 177.
The Crawley derby ended in a draw. Rehman top-scored with 46 in Crawley's 177 while Shiyan took 5-45 for visitors Crawley Eagles who finished just short on 173-9, Amir Riaz making 65.
Keymer and Hassocks beat Ansty by three runs in a low-scoring contest. The home side were bowled out for 129 but Ansty fell just short after a superb return of 7-30 by the evergreen Simon Parsons. Richard Nicholls' 41 was in vain for Ansty.
There were four wickets apiece for Henfield's Tim Parsons and Graham Fuller in the draw at Billingshurst. Kevin Thorns made an unbeaten 56 as the visitors reached 160-3 in reply to Billingshurst's 202-9.
