Rentokil Initial, the pest control to security group, may quit its West Sussex headquarters as part of a radical shake-up.
New chairman Brian McGowan has announced a strategic review which could result in its break-up.
He held his first boardroom meeting yesterday and was expected to urge his four divisional managers to "think out of the box".
Following a profits warning last week and the messy departure of former chairman Sir Clive Thompson, Mr McGowan is determined to make changes.
According to some reports he may decide to sell the headquarters in East Grinstead, severing links to Sir Clive's ten-year reign.
The group will seek to reassure investors at its annual meeting on Thursday.
It wants to bolster shareholder goodwill and is likely to stress last week's profits forecast, down from £408 million to £350 million for this year, does not pose a threat to dividends.
