With National Vegetarian Week over (it was the last week in May), many people will be weighing up the pros and cons of eating meat and deciding if it really is ethical to use animals in this way.
I have been vegetarian for 20 years (I am now 31). Since seeing an animal rights undercover video that proved meat was not for me - and definitely wasn't doing any favours for the animals.
Animals shipped to other countries, taking sometimes weeks to
get to their destination, end up dead or maimed or, at least, terrified or completely and utterly miserable.
Extreme farming methods are used to create as much meat as possible in the shortest possible time.
Calves are taken from their mother at a couple of days old so they can be shipped abroad for veal and we can have her milk. It really is not a very moral story.
